The industry’s overall hiring increased by 4.39% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.85% share in September 2022, recording an increase of 0.46% over the last three-month average share.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed an 18.93% share, an increase of 77.78% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 15.38%, registering a 225% rise from August 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 9.47%, up 23.08% over the previous month.

Top five power companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 118.03% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s power industry during September 2022 over August 2022.

Stem posted 65 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a rise of 103.13% over the previous month, followed by Algonquin Power & Utilities with 45 jobs and a 95.65% growth. Hydro-Quebec with 10 IT jobs and Just Energy Group with 8 jobs, recorded a 400% growth and a 300% growth, respectively, while Siemens recorded an increase of 150% with 5 job postings during September 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 84.62%, up by 83.33% from August 2022. Entry Level positions with an 8.28% share, registered an increase of 55.56% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 7.1% share, down 14.29% over August 2022.
