China’s power industry registered a 2.9% rise in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.13% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 7.37% share in October 2022, recording an increase of 0.45% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in China’s power industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s power industry in October 2022.

1) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations recorded a share of 43.18% in October 2022, registering a 216.67% growth over the previous month.

2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 27.27% share, a decrease of 55.56% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 15.91%, registering a 12.5% decline from September 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 11.36%, up 400% over the previous month.

Top five power companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 27.12% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s power industry during October 2022 over September 2022.

Umicore posted 17 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a rise of 1600% over the previous month, followed by Siemens with 13 jobs and a 43.48% drop. China Resources Power Holdings with 10 IT jobs and Schneider Electric with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Kehua Data recorded a decline of 96.97% with 1 job postings during October 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 52.27%, down by 55.77% from September 2022. Entry Level positions with a 38.64% share, registered an increase of 142.86% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 9.09% share, down 20% over September 2022.
