China’s power industry IT recruitment activity rises 6.2% in April 2022

China’s power industry registered a 6.2% rise in IT hiring activity in April 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 6.34% in April 2022 when compared with March 2022.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.3% share in April 2022, recording a decrease of 0.51% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in China’s power industry’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s power industry in April 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 62.79% in April 2022, registering a 10% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer Support Specialists claimed a 16.28% share, an increase of 250% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 9.3%, registering a 100% rise from March 2022.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 6.98%, up 50% over the previous month.

Top five power companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 30.3% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s power industry during April 2022 over March 2022.

Siemens posted 34 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered a rise of 54.55% over the previous month, followed by Water with 3 jobs and a flat growth. Ming Yang Smart Energy Group with 2 IT jobs and Element Labs with 2 jobs, recorded a 100% flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology recorded a decline of 60% with 2 job postings during April 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 81.4%, up by 16.67% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 6.98% share, registered a decline of 50% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.98% share, up 200% over March 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 4.65%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
