May 2022 has seen a decrease of 7.09% in the overall hiring activity when compared with April 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 5.79% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in May 2022, registering a decrease of 0.05% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in May 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 53.72% in May 2022, a 19.09% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 19.83% in May 2022, marking a 10% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 8.54% in May 2022, a 20.51% drop from April 2022.

Top five power companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 11.17% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s power industry during May 2022 over previous month.
Siemens posted 62 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a decline of 35.42% over the previous month, followed by Vestas Wind Systems with 37 jobs and a 2.78% growth. CEZ with 29 IT jobs and SSE with 26 jobs, recorded a 16% rise and an 85.71% rise, respectively, while Enel recorded a 19.23% decline with 21 job postings during May 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s power industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 20.39% share in May 2022, a 12.94% decrease over April 2022. Germany featured next with a 20.11% share, up 15.87% over the previous month. Czech Republic recorded an 8.82% share, a growth of 14.29% compared with April 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.1%, down by 20.88% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 13.5% share, registered a growth of 13.95% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.02% share, down 27.27% over April 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.38%, recording a month-on-month decline of 16.67%.
