August 2022 has seen a decrease of 8.11% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 9.26% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2022, registering an increase of 0.31% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 47.1% in August 2022, an 8.64% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 20.92% in August 2022, marking a 42.16% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 15.38% in August 2022, a 4.2% drop from July 2022.

Top five power companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 29.96% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s power industry during August 2022 over previous month.

Siemens Energy posted 78 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Siemens with 76 jobs and a 31.53% drop. Umicore with 56 IT jobs and Nordex with 47 jobs, recorded a 15.15% drop and a 2.08% drop, respectively, while Hitachi Zosen Inova recorded an 1800% increase with 38 job postings during August 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s power industry

Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 21.86% share in August 2022, a 1.82% decrease over July 2022. The UK featured next with a 16.73% share, down 39.22% over the previous month. Belgium recorded an 8.64% share, a drop of 20% compared with July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 76.11%, down by 15.57% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 12.55% share, registered a decline of 35.42% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.07% share, down 25.45% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.27%, recording a month-on-month growth of 100%.
