October 2021 has seen an increase of 2.75% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 10.43% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2021, registering an increase of 0.81% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 59.27% in October 2021, a 6.5% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 17.12% in October 2021, marking a flat month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 11.09% in October 2021, a 15.66% drop from September 2021.

Top five power companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 2.82% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s power industry during October 2021 over previous month.
Siemens posted 131 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a decline of 22.02% over the previous month, followed by Umicore with 83 jobs and a 9.78% drop. Enel with 50 IT jobs and Vestas Wind Systems with 47 jobs, recorded an 117.39% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while Schneider Electric recorded a 37.5% increase with 33 job postings during October 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s power industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 17.91% share in October 2021, a 15.67% decrease over September 2021. The UK featured next with a 13.31% share, down 1.18% over the previous month. Belgium recorded a 13.15% share, a drop of 13.54% compared with September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 75.28%, up by 1.06% from September 2021. Entry Level positions with a 14.1% share, registered a decline of 6.32% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 9.98% share, down 34.38% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.63%, recording a month-on-month growth of 300%.
