France’s power industry IT recruitment activity drops 38.9% in August 2022

France’s power industry registered a 38.9% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 44.94% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6% share in August 2022, recording an increase of 1.24% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in France’s power industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.28% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of France’s power industry in August 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 41.38% in August 2022, registering a 67.57% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 27.59% share, a decrease of 65.22% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 15.52%, registering a 67.86% decline from July 2022.

4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 8.62%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five power companies in France’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 64.6% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of France’s power industry during August 2022 over July 2022.

Electricite de France posted 29 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a drop of 75.42% over the previous month, followed by Engie with 17 jobs and a 50% drop. Schneider Electric with 8 IT jobs and Siemens with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 75% decrease, respectively, while Octopus Energy recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.69%, down by 67.2% from July 2022. Entry Level positions with a 20.69% share, registered a decline of 20% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 8.62% share, down 80.77% over July 2022.
