US-based company General Electric’s IT hiring declined 19.7% in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 23.82% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 9.52% share in the company’s total hiring activity in May 2022, and recorded a 0.5% growth over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops General Electric IT hiring in May 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by General Electric, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 73.81% in May 2022, and a 25.48% drop over April 2022, while Computer and Information Research Scientists claimed a share of 12.38% in May 2022, and registered growth of 30%. Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 4.76% in May 2022, a 42.86% rise from April 2022.

Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at General Electric

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global construction IT hiring activity in May 2022 with a 43.81% share, which marked a 20.69% drop over the previous month.

North America stood next with 40.95%, registering a 23.89% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 14.76% share and a 31.11% drop over April 2022.

In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 0.48% and a month-on-month decline of 75%.

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 38.57% share in May 2022, a 22.86% decline over April 2022. US featured next with a 29.52% share, down 36.73% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 9.05% share, an increase of 72.73% compared with April 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead General Electric IT hiring activity in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 50%, down by 28.08% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 40% share, a decline of 25.66% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 10% share, up 5% over April 2022.
