India’s power industry registered a 10.7% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 9.31% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.
Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 25.89% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 0.14% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s power industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.56% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s power industry in October 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 61.57% in October 2022, registering a 21.67% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 19.65% share, a decrease of 31.82% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 6.55%, registering an 11.76% decline from September 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 6.55%, down 21.05% over the previous month.
Top five power companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 5.76% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s power industry during October 2022 over September 2022.
Siemens posted 103 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a drop of 17.6% over the previous month, followed by Schneider Electric with 53 jobs and a 43.24% growth. Vestas Wind Systems with 10 IT jobs and Clearway Energy with 8 jobs, recorded an 11.11% growth and a 27.27% decrease, respectively, while Enphase Energy recorded a decline of 33.33% with 6 job postings during October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 51.97%, down by 33.15% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 37.99% share, registered a decline of 8.42% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.11% share, down 30% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 3.93%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
