India’s power industry IT recruitment activity drops 2.4% in July 2022

India’s power industry registered a 2.4% drop in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.84% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 25.98% share in July 2022, recording a decrease of 1.63% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in India’s power industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.46% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s power industry in July 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 63.04% in July 2022, registering a 26.58% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 23.37% share, a decrease of 18.87% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 5.98%, registering a 62.07% decline from June 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 4.89%, down 50% over the previous month.

Top five power companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 33.63% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s power industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

Siemens posted 95 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a drop of 31.16% over the previous month, followed by Vestas Wind Systems with 26 jobs and a 30% growth. Schneider Electric with 12 IT jobs and Axpo with 10 jobs, recorded a 79.66% decline and a 233.33% growth, respectively, while Clearway Energy recorded an increase of 16.67% with 7 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 53.8%, down by 26.12% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 41.3% share, registered a decline of 30.28% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 4.35% share, down 70.37% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.54%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
