India’s power industry registered a 4.0% drop in IT hiring activity in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 2.12% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 33.64% share in March 2022, recording a decrease of 2.07% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 75.25% in March 2022, registering an 8.16% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed an 8.7% share, an increase of 30% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 6.69%, registering a 31.03% decline from February 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 5.69%, up 21.43% over the previous month.

Top five power companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 7.28% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s power industry during March 2022 over February 2022.

Siemens posted 132 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a drop of 23.26% over the previous month, followed by Schneider Electric with 71 jobs and a flat growth. Enphase Energy with 14 IT jobs and Schneider Power with 14 jobs, recorded a 133.33% growth and a 1300% growth, respectively, while Clearway Energy recorded a flat growth with 11 job postings during March 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.52%, down by 5.06% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 31.44% share, registered a decline of 17.54% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.37% share, up 41.67% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.67%, recording a month-on-month increase of 100%.
