India’s power industry IT recruitment activity drops 7.7% in May 2022

India’s power industry registered a 7.7% drop in IT hiring activity in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.48% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 20.67% share in May 2022, recording a decrease of 1.85% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in India’s power industry’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.05% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s power industry in May 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 70.62% in May 2022, registering a 2.61% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 10.43% share, an increase of 22.22% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 9.48%, registering an 11.11% rise from April 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 5.69%, down 20% over the previous month.

Top five power companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 0.56% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s power industry during May 2022 over April 2022.

Siemens posted 111 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a drop of 14.62% over the previous month, followed by Schneider Electric with 44 jobs and a 12.82% growth. Vestas Wind Systems with 10 IT jobs and ChargePoint Holdings with 9 jobs, recorded an 11.11% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Clearway Energy recorded an increase of 250% with 7 job postings during May 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.29%, down by 2.38% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 33.18% share, registered an increase of 7.69% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.53% share, down 5.26% over April 2022.
