India’s power industry registered a 10.6% rise in IT hiring activity in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 10.15% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 34.79% share in October 2021, recording a decrease of 1.58% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 72.5% in October 2021, registering a 15.53% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 9.58% share, a flat growth over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 9.17%, registering a 4.35% decline from September 2021.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 6.25%, up 114.29% over the previous month.

Top five power companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 4.97% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s power industry during October 2021 over September 2021.

Siemens posted 103 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a drop of 17.6% over the previous month, followed by Schneider Electric with 58 jobs and a 34.88% growth. Clearway Energy with 11 IT jobs and ORTEC with 10 jobs, recorded an 83.33% growth and a 900% growth, respectively, while Schneider Power recorded an increase of 33.33% with 8 job postings during October 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.75%, down by 12.42% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 34.58% share, registered a decline of 5.68% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.25% share, flat growth over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.42%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
