India’s power industry registered a 5.8% rise in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.28% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 25.63% share in September 2022, recording a flat growth over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in India’s power industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.25% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s power industry in September 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 62.17% in September 2022, registering a 7.26% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 21.72% share, an increase of 20.83% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 5.99%, registering a 46.67% decline from August 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 5.99%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five power companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 13.72% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s power industry during September 2022 over August 2022.

Siemens posted 117 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a rise of 5.41% over the previous month, followed by Schneider Electric with 37 jobs and a 40.32% drop. SolarEdge Technologies with 17 IT jobs and Siemens Energy with 13 jobs, recorded a 466.67% growth and a 68.29% decrease, respectively, while Clearway Energy recorded an increase of 22.22% with 11 job postings during September 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.93%, down by 3.03% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 31.84% share, registered a decline of 10.53% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.49% share, down 23.08% over August 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.75%, recording a month-on-month increase of 100%.
