India’s power industry registered a 6.9% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 11.49% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 24.61% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 1.86% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 60.89% in August 2022, registering a 30.17% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 16.53% share, a decrease of 6.82% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 11.29%, registering a 154.55% rise from July 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 5.65%, up 55.56% over the previous month.

Top five power companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 56% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s power industry during August 2022 over July 2022.

Siemens posted 76 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a drop of 20.83% over the previous month, followed by Schneider Electric with 62 jobs and a 416.67% growth. Siemens Energy with 41 IT jobs and Clearway Energy with 9 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 28.57% growth, respectively, while Axpo recorded a decline of 30% with 7 job postings during August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.87%, up by 47.47% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 30.24% share, registered a decline of 2.6% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.48% share, up 225% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.4%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
