IT jobs accounted for an 11.08% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering a decrease of 0.16% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 76.92% in September 2021, a 233.33% rise over the previous month. Computer Support Specialists came in next, claiming a share of 7.69% in September 2021, marking a flat month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 7.69% in September 2021, a flat growth from August 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 85.71% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s power industry during September 2021 over previous month.

Siemens posted 8 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered an increase of 300% over the previous month, followed by Schneider Electric with 2 jobs and a flat growth. Scatec with 1 IT job and Woolpert with 1 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Companhia de Transmissao de Energia Eletrica Paulista recorded a 75% decline with 1 job postings during September 2021.

South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 30.77% share in September 2021, a 33.33% decrease over August 2021.
