IT jobs accounted for an 11.14% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in February 2022, registering a decrease of 0.19% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in February 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 70.59% in February 2022, a 20% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 11.76% in February 2022, marking a 100% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 11.76% in February 2022, a 33.33% drop from January 2022.

Siemens posted 8 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Vestas Wind Systems with 2 jobs and a flat growth. Xylem with 2 IT jobs and Enel with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while TaKaDu recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during February 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s power industry
Egypt commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 35.29% share in February 2022, a flat growth over January 2022. South Africa featured next with a 35.29% share, up 200% over the previous month. Israel recorded a 23.53% share, a growth of 100% compared with January 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.59%, up by 9.09% from January 2022. Entry Level positions with a 17.65% share, registered a decline of 25% compared with the previous month.
