IT jobs accounted for a 7.9% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2022, registering an increase of 0.26% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 40% in September 2022, an 11.11% rise over the previous month. Computer Support Specialists came in next, claiming a share of 16% in September 2022, marking a 33.33% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 16% in September 2022, a 33.33% drop from August 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 26.67% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s power industry during September 2022 over previous month.

Siemens posted 7 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a decline of 36.36% over the previous month, followed by Rubicon Renewables with 6 jobs and a flat growth. Emirates Nuclear Energy with 2 IT jobs and Amentum Services with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Siemens Energy recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during September 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s power industry

South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 32% share in September 2022, a 33.33% increase over August 2022. United Arab Emirates featured next with a 20% share, up 25% over the previous month. Egypt recorded a 16% share, a flat growth compared with August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
