Portugal’s power industry registered a 9.9% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 2.27% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.
Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 18.8% share in November 2022, recording a decrease of 1.53% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Portugal’s power industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96.77% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Portugal’s power industry in November 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 45.16% in November 2022, registering a 17.65% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 32.26% share, a decrease of 23.08% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 6.45%, registering a flat growth from October 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 6.45%, down 50% over the previous month.
Top five power companies in Portugal’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 16.67% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Portugal’s power industry during November 2022 over October 2022.
Siemens posted 9 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a drop of 50% over the previous month, followed by Vestas Wind Systems with 7 jobs and a 75% growth. Energias de Portugal with 6 IT jobs and Nordex with 5 jobs, recorded a 33.33% decline and a 25% growth, respectively, while Siemens Energy recorded an increase of 200% with 3 job postings during November 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.29%, down by 13.64% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 19.35% share, registered a decline of 25% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 19.35% share, down 14.29% over October 2022.
