Portugal’s power industry registered a 29.6% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 16.25% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.
Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 19.51% share in July 2022, recording an increase of 2.22% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Portugal’s power industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 95.74% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Portugal’s power industry in July 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 55.32% in July 2022, registering an 116.67% growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 14.89% share, a flat growth over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 12.77%, registering a 500% rise from June 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 6.38%, down 50% over the previous month.
Top five power companies in Portugal’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 67.86% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Portugal’s power industry during July 2022 over June 2022.
Vestas Wind Systems posted 27 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a rise of 92.86% over the previous month, followed by Siemens with 10 jobs and a 25% growth. Nordex with 6 IT jobs and Energias de Portugal with 3 jobs, recorded a 200% growth and a 25% decrease, respectively, while Voltalia recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 82.98%, up by 105.26% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 12.77% share, registered a decline of 14.29% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.26% share, flat growth over June 2022.
