September 2022 has seen a decrease of 1.82% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 3.94% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2022, registering a decrease of 0.04% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 35.29% in September 2022, a 55.56% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 23.53% in September 2022, marking a 300% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 23.53% in September 2022, a 60% rise from August 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 31.71% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s power industry during September 2022 over previous month.

Enel posted 9 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a decline of 18.18% over the previous month, followed by Iberdrola with 9 jobs and an 18.18% drop. KORE Telematics with 5 IT jobs and Siemens with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Energisa recorded an 87.5% decline with 2 job postings during September 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s power industry

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 55.88% share in September 2022, a 40.63% decrease over August 2022. Dominican Republic featured next with an 11.76% share, flat growth over the previous month. Jamaica recorded an 8.82% share, a flat growth compared with August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.53%, down by 13.79% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 23.53% share, registered a decline of 20% compared with the previous month.
