South & Central America witnessed a 14.8% rise in IT hiring activity in the power industry in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

August 2022 has seen a flat growth in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 4.44% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2022, registering an increase of 0.61% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 62.79% in August 2022, an 80% rise over the previous month. Computer Support Specialists came in next, claiming a share of 13.95% in August 2022, marking a 50% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 9.3% in August 2022, a 33.33% drop from July 2022.

Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 9.3% in August 2022, a 60% decline over the previous month.

Top five power companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 66.67% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s power industry during August 2022 over previous month.

Energisa posted 16 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered an increase of 128.57% over the previous month, followed by Enel with 11 jobs and a 37.5% growth. Iberdrola with 9 IT jobs and Siemens with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Siemens Energy recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during August 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s power industry

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 72.09% share in August 2022, a 40.91% increase over July 2022. Colombia featured next with a 13.95% share, up 200% over the previous month. Argentina recorded a 9.3% share, a drop of 55.56% compared with July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.12%, up by 3.7% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 23.26% share, registered a growth of 400% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.63% share, down 44.44% over July 2022.
