Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 62.79% in August 2022, an 80% rise over the previous month. Computer Support Specialists came in next, claiming a share of 13.95% in August 2022, marking a 50% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 9.3% in August 2022, a 33.33% drop from July 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 66.67% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s power industry during August 2022 over previous month.
Energisa posted 16 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered an increase of 128.57% over the previous month, followed by Enel with 11 jobs and a 37.5% growth. Iberdrola with 9 IT jobs and Siemens with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Siemens Energy recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s power industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s power industry IT hiring activity with a 72.09% share in August 2022, a 40.91% increase over July 2022. Colombia featured next with a 13.95% share, up 200% over the previous month. Argentina recorded a 9.3% share, a drop of 55.56% compared with July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.12%, up by 3.7% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 23.26% share, registered a growth of 400% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.63% share, down 44.44% over July 2022.
