The industry’s overall hiring increased by 9.86% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 10.24% share in February 2022, recording an increase of 0.54% over the last three-month average share.

Top five power companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 28.57% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s power industry during February 2022 over January 2022.

National Grid posted 25 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a rise of 66.67% over the previous month, followed by SSE with 16 jobs and a 14.29% growth. Octopus Energy with 10 IT jobs and Siemens with 8 jobs, recorded a 72.22% decline and a 61.9% decrease, respectively, while The ERM Group recorded an increase of 20% with 6 job postings during February 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.21%, down by 41.07% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 13.83% share, registered a decline of 43.48% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.7% share, down 50% over January 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 4.26%, recording a month-on-month increase of 33.33%.
