The industry’s overall hiring increased by 4% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.
Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 7.83% share in October 2021, recording an increase of 0.2% over the last three-month average share.

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.02% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s power industry in October 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 12.85% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s power industry during October 2021 over September 2021.
NextEra Energy posted 269 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a drop of 6.27% over the previous month, followed by PG&E with 112 jobs and a 64.71% growth. Siemens with 110 IT jobs and Xcel Energy with 55 jobs, recorded a 54.93% flat growth and a 10% flat growth, respectively, while Schneider Electric recorded a decline of 3.77% with 51 job postings during October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 48.08%, up by 4.75% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 32.96% share, registered an increase of 0.23% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 18.66% share, down 11.74% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.3%, recording a month-on-month decline of 42.86%.
