The industry’s overall hiring increased by 5.13% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.

Out of the power industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 7.64% share in September 2021, recording an increase of 0.26% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 46.17% in September 2021, registering a 6.29% flat growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 17.69% share, an increase of 17.09% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 14.65%, registering a 7.22% rise from August 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 13.52%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five power companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 20.8% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s power industry during September 2021 over August 2021.

NextEra Energy posted 252 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a rise of 73.79% over the previous month, followed by PG&E with 68 jobs and a 17.24% growth. Siemens with 61 IT jobs and Schneider Electric with 54 jobs, recorded a 29.89% decline and a 6.9% decrease, respectively, while Xcel Energy recorded a decline of 7.84% with 47 job postings during September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 47.76%, down by 4.84% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 31.81% share, registered an increase of 16.07% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 19.89% share, up 12.45% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.53%, recording a month-on-month increase of 250%.
