Abanico Laja is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project are 147m and 145.7m respectively. Abanico Laja underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 1959. The project generated 330.71 GWh of electricity.

Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Sistema Interconectado Central under a power purchase agreement.
The turbines for the hydro power project have been supplied by DBS Escher Wyss and Morgan Smith.
The electric generators for the project were procured from AEG Power Solutions and GE Renewable Energy.
