The project is developed and owned by Piasa Cogeneracion.
The project generates 180.79GWh electricity thereby offsetting 14,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $61m.
Bagasse which is a kind of agricultural by-product is used as a feedstock to power the project.
The project consists of 1 turbine with 50MW nameplate capacity.
