The project is currently owned by Al Kamil Power Company SAOG with a stake of 100%.
It is a Gas Turbine power plant that is used for Baseload. The fuel is procured from Ministry of Oil and Gas.
The project got commissioned in 2002.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Oman Power and Water Procurement under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years.
AIC Construction and Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering were selected to render EPC services for the gas fired power project.
GE Power was selected as the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The company provided 3 units of Frame 9 Gas Turbine gas turbines, each with 97MW nameplate capacity.
Al Kamil Construction & Services and General Electric were contracted to render operations & maintenance services for the project.
