Description

The project is currently owned by VERBUND Hydro Power.

Altenwoerth is a run-of-river project. The gross head of the project is 15m. The project generated 2,004.196 MWh of electricity.

The project construction commenced in 1973 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1976.

Contractors Involved

Andritz Hydro was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 9 units of kaplan turbines, each with 39MW nameplate capacity.

Andritz Hydro supplied 9 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 45 MVA.
