The project is being developed and currently owned by Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam.

Arakot Tiuni is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project will be 278m and 250.2m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 3 in number. The penstock diameter will be 1.9m. The project is expected to generate 404.29 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $157.179m.

The hydro power project consists of 3 turbines, each with 27MW nameplate capacity.

The project will have 3 electric generators installed at the project site. The generator capacity is likely to be 26.66 MVA.

Development Status

The project construction is expected to commence from 2024. Subsequent to that it will enter into commercial operation by 2026.
