Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q3 2019 with 62 contracts and a 32.8% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 57 contracts and a 30.2% share and Electricity Procurement with 42 contracts and a 22.2% share during the quarter.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Power Purchase Agreement: 33 contracts and a 78.6% share
- Electricity Supply: eight contracts and a 19% share
- Project Implementation: one contract and a 2.4% share.
Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific electricity procurement contracts in Q3 2019
Looking at electricity procurement contracts by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 27 contracts with a 69.2% share, followed by wind with six contracts and a 15.4% share and thermal with four contracts and a 10.3% share.
