Asia-Pacific generation equipment contracts activity down 10% in November 2021

There were 26 generation equipment contracts announced in the Asia-Pacific region in November 2021, marking a drop of 10% over the last 12-month average of 29, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in November 2021 with 38 contracts and a 32.8% share, followed by Electricity Procurement with 29 contracts and a 25% share and Generation Equipment with 26 contracts and a 22.4% share during the month.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 21 contracts and an 80.8% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three contracts and an 11.5% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: one contract and a 3.8% share
  4. Project Implementation: one contract and a 3.8% share.

Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific generation equipment contracts in November 2021

Looking at generation equipment contracts by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for nine contracts with a 36% share, followed by thermal with six contracts and a 24% share and wind with four contracts and a 16% share.
