Generation Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in July 2019 with 28 contracts and a 38.4% share, followed by Electricity Procurement with 17 contracts and a 23.3% share and Power Plant with 15 contracts and a 20.5% share during the month.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 24 contracts and an 85.7% share
- Project Implementation: three contracts and a 10.7% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one contract and a 3.6% share.
Thermal is top technology for Asia-Pacific generation equipment contracts in July 2019
Looking at generation equipment contracts by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, thermal accounted for 11 contracts with a 39.3% share, followed by solar with six contracts and a 21.4% share and biopower with four contracts and a 14.3% share.
