T&D Project stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in May 2020 with 212 tenders and a 51.8% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 110 tenders and a 26.9% share and Generation Equipment with 40 tenders and a 9.8% share during the month.
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 27 tenders and a 67.5% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 12 tenders and a 30% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: one tender and a 2.5% share.
Thermal is top technology for Asia-Pacific generation equipment tenders in May 2020
Looking at generation equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, thermal accounted for 34 tenders with an 85% share, followed by hydro with three tenders and a 7.5% share and solar with three tenders and a 7.5% share.
