T&D Project stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q1 2020 with 737 tenders and a 49.9% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 335 tenders and a 22.7% share and Power Plant with 193 tenders and a 13.1% share during the quarter.
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 148 tenders and an 80.9% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 35 tenders and a 19.1% share.
Thermal is top technology for Asia-Pacific generation equipment tenders in Q1 2020
Looking at generation equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, thermal accounted for 171 tenders with a 93.4% share, followed by solar with nine tenders and a 4.9% share and hydro with two tenders and a 1.1% share.
