Asia-Pacific power industry tenders in February 2021: Pakistan leads activity
Looking at tenders by country, Pakistan led the activity in February 2021 with 31 tenders and a share of 23%, up 11.8% over the previous month and up 11% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by India with 25 tenders and a share of 18.5% and Sri Lanka with 14 tenders and a share of 10.4% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, India held the top spot with 238 tenders, followed by Bangladesh with 38 and the Philippines with 37 tenders.

Solar is top technology area for tenders in February 2021
Looking at tenders divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 44 tenders and an 83% share, followed by thermal with four tenders and a 7.5% share and nuclear with two tenders and a 3.8% share.
Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment in Asia-Pacific as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment in February 2021, with 53 tenders, followed by Power Plant (45) and T&D Project (26).
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 64 tenders and a 47.4% share
- Supply & Erection: 49 tenders and a 36.3% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 19 tenders and a 14.1% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: three tenders and a 2.2% share.
Power tenders in February 2021: Top issuers by capacity
The top issuers of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 1,885MW from two tenders
- Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution (India): 501MW from two tenders
- Energy Efficiency Services (India): 449MW capacity from three tenders.
