Generation Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in April 2020 with 31 contracts and a 43.1% share, followed by Power Plant with 25 contracts and a 34.7% share and Electricity Procurement with six contracts and an 8.3% share during the month.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 19 contracts and a 76% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three contracts and a 12% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: two contracts and an 8% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: one contract and a 4% share.
Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant contracts in April 2020
Looking at power plant contracts by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 18 contracts with a 72% share, followed by wind with three contracts and a 12% share and thermal with one contract and a 4% share.
