Generation Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in November 2019 with 38 contracts and a 38% share, followed by Power Plant with 37 contracts and a 37% share and Electricity Procurement with eight contracts and an 8% share during the month.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 29 contracts and a 78.4% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: four contracts and a 10.8% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: three contracts and an 8.1% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one contract and a 2.7% share.
Wind is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant contracts in November 2019
Looking at power plant contracts by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, wind accounted for 16 contracts with a 43.2% share, followed by solar with ten contracts and a 27% share and biopower with five contracts and a 13.5% share.
