Generation Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in October 2020 with 41 contracts and a 36.3% share, followed by Power Plant with 38 contracts and a 33.6% share and Electricity Procurement with 15 contracts and a 13.3% share during the month.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 26 contracts and a 68.4% share
  2. Power Purchase Agreement: six contracts and a 15.8% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: five contracts and a 13.2% share
  4. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one contract and a 2.6% share.

Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant contracts in October 2020

Looking at power plant contracts by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 23 contracts with a 57.5% share, followed by wind with eight contracts and a 20% share and biopower with three contracts and a 7.5% share.
