Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q1 2020 with 91 contracts and a 35.1% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 76 contracts and a 29.3% share and Electricity Procurement with 45 contracts and a 17.4% share during the quarter.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 70 contracts and a 76.9% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: 11 contracts and a 12.1% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: six contracts and a 6.6% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: four contracts and a 4.4% share.
Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant contracts in Q1 2020
Looking at power plant contracts by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 51 contracts with a 54.3% share, followed by wind with 13 contracts and a 13.8% share and thermal with 12 contracts and a 12.8% share.
