Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q3 2019 with 62 contracts and a 32.8% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 57 contracts and a 30.2% share and Electricity Procurement with 42 contracts and a 22.2% share during the quarter.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 47 contracts and a 75.8% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: seven contracts and an 11.3% share
  3. Power Purchase Agreement: four contracts and a 6.5% share
  4. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: four contracts and a 6.5% share.

Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant contracts in Q3 2019

Looking at power plant contracts by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 38 contracts with a 61.3% share, followed by thermal with ten contracts and a 16.1% share and wind with seven contracts and an 11.3% share.
