T&D Project stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in April 2020 with 159 tenders and a 42.9% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 110 tenders and a 29.6% share and Generation Equipment with 54 tenders and a 14.6% share during the month.
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 28 tenders and a 75.7% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: six tenders and a 16.2% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: two tenders and a 5.4% share
- Supply & Erection: one tender and a 2.7% share.
Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in April 2020
Looking at power plant tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 31 tenders with an 86.1% share, followed by hydro with three tenders and an 8.3% share and wind with two tenders and a 5.6% share.

The top issuers of power plant tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 2,515MW from two tenders
