T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in February 2021 with 53 tenders and a 37.3% share, followed by Power Plant with 45 tenders and a 31.7% share and T&D Project with 26 tenders and an 18.3% share during the month.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 39 tenders and an 86.7% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: four tenders and an 8.9% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: two tenders and a 4.4% share.

Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in February 2021

Looking at power plant tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 42 tenders with a 93.3% share, followed by biopower with one tender and a 2.2% share and geothermal with one tender and a 2.2% share.

Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in February 2021: Top issuers by capacity

The top issuers of power plant tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

  1. Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 1,885MW from two tenders
  2. Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution (India): 501MW from two tenders
  3. Energy Efficiency Services (India): 449MW capacity from three tenders.
