T&D Project stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in January 2021 with 63 tenders and a 31.8% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 59 tenders and a 29.8% share and Power Plant with 39 tenders and a 19.7% share during the month.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 35 tenders and an 89.7% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: four tenders and a 10.3% share.

Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in January 2021

Looking at power plant tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 35 tenders with an 89.7% share, followed by geothermal with two tenders and a 5.1% share and hydro with one tender and a 2.6% share.

Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in January 2021: Top issuers by capacity

The top issuers of power plant tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

  1. Bundelkhand Saur Urja (India): 1,200MW from one tender
  2. NTPC (India): 490.25MW from three tenders
  3. Mahagenco (India): 250MW capacity from one tender.
