T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in June 2021 with 53 tenders and a 32.1% share, followed by T&D Project with 34 tenders and a 20.6% share and Power Plant with 33 tenders and a 20% share during the month.
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 29 tenders and an 87.9% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three tenders and a 9.1% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: one tender and a 3% share.
Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in June 2021
Looking at power plant tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 31 tenders with an 83.8% share, followed by thermal with two tenders and a 5.4% share and wind with two tenders and a 5.4% share.

Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in June 2021: Top issuers by capacity
The top issuers of power plant tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- Gujarat Industries Power (India): 2,375MW from one tender
- Railway Energy Management (India): 755MW from two tenders
- Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution (India): 500MW capacity from one tender.
