T&D Project stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in March 2020 with 169 tenders and a 41.8% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 122 tenders and a 30.2% share and Generation Equipment with 54 tenders and a 13.4% share during the month.
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 48 tenders and an 88.9% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three tenders and a 5.6% share
- Supply & Erection: one tender and a 1.9% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: one tender and a 1.9% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: one tender and a 1.9% share.
Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in March 2020
Looking at power plant tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 48 tenders with an 88.9% share, followed by thermal with two tenders and a 3.7% share and wind with two tenders and a 3.7% share.

Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in March 2020: Top companies by capacity
The top issuers of power plant tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 7,066MW from four tenders
- Ministry of Energy, Uzbekistan: 1,500MW from one tender
- NTPC (India): 735.1MW capacity from two tenders.
