T&D Project stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q3 2019 with 895 tenders and a 50.9% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 324 tenders and an 18.4% share and Generation Equipment with 255 tenders and a 14.5% share during the quarter.
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 222 tenders and a 90.6% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 12 tenders and a 4.9% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: 11 tenders and a 4.5% share.
Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in Q3 2019
Looking at power plant tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 220 tenders with an 89.8% share, followed by wind with nine tenders and a 3.7% share and hydro with eight tenders and a 3.3% share.

The top issuers of power plant tenders for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 4,272.52MW from six tenders
- NTPC (India): 2,490.26MW from seven tenders
- Philippines Department of Energy (Philippines) and NHPC (India): 2,000MW capacity from one tender.
