T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in December 2021 with 72 tenders and a 43.6% share, followed by Power Plant with 33 tenders and a 20% share and Generation Equipment with 24 tenders and a 14.5% share during the month.
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 28 tenders and an 84.8% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three tenders and a 9.1% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: two tenders and a 6.1% share.
Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in December 2021
Looking at power plant tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 27 tenders with a 77.1% share, followed by hydro with five tenders and a 14.3% share and wind with two tenders and a 5.7% share.

Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in December 2021: Top companies by capacity
The top issuers of power plant tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- Greenko MP01 IREP Private: 1,440MW from one tender
- Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan (Japan): 356MW from one tender
- NTPC (India): 260MW capacity from one tender.
