T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in November 2021 with 46 tenders and a 36.5% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 27 tenders and a 21.4% share and Power Plant with 24 tenders and a 19% share during the month.
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 15 tenders and a 62.5% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five tenders and a 20.8% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: four tenders and a 16.7% share.
Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific power plant tenders in November 2021
Looking at power plant tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for 18 tenders with a 75% share, followed by thermal with two tenders and an 8.3% share and biopower with two tenders and an 8.3% share.

The top issuers of power plant tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:
- Rewa Ultra Mega Solar (India): 600MW from one tender
- Bangladesh Power Development Board (Bangladesh): 400MW from one tender
- Kerala State Electricity Board (India) and NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (India): 100MW capacity from one tender.
