Asia-Pacific Solar technology contracts activity rises 21% in March 2022

Asia-Pacific solar technology contracts in March 2022 saw 63 contracts announced, marking a rise of 21% over the last 12-month average of 52, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of solar technology contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation with 37 contracts and a 58.7% share
  2. Power Purchase Agreement: 15 contracts and a 23.8% share
  3. Supply & Erection: eight contracts and a 12.7% share
  4. Consulting & Similar Services: three contracts and a 4.8% share.

 

China tops Asia-Pacific solar power contracts activity

 

China was the top country in the Asia-Pacific region for solar technology contracts recorded in March 2022 with 30 contracts and a 47.6% share, followed by India with 13 contracts and a 20.6% share and Japan with five contracts and a 7.9% share.

Asia-Pacific solar technology contracts in March 2022: Top companies by capacity

 

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

  1. China Huadian (China): 3,000MW from one contract
  2. ArcelorMittal (Luxembourg): 975MW from one contract
  3. Guoneng Xinjiang Ganquanbao Comprehensive Energy Service and Solar Energy Corporation of India (India): 300MW capacity from one contract.

 

Asia-Pacific solar technology contracts in March 2022: Top winners by capacity

 

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

  1. China Power Engineering Consulting Group (China): 7,977MW from ten contracts
  2. Greenko Energies (India): 975MW from one contract
  3. PowerChina Nuclear Engineering (China): 500MW capacity from three contracts.
